To help us better understand how America went from the "Roaring Twenties" to the Great Depression, 8th graders participated in a historical simulation of the stock market crash of 1929.

this project was cool! When i was choosing to take the test or not i wasnt sure if i wanted to. My group convinced me to. I can imagine how in the 1920's if a friend or friends told u to buy a stock on margin and then "crash!!!"
I learned that there are risks you take in any choice you make. Including during the 1920's when a lot of people bought things on margin. From this project I could see in my mind people buying off margin and then losing everything. I pulled a Black Tuesday card and lost all of my extra credit points which wasn't so great. So I imagine people were very upset, depressed, and mad. I thought the project really helped. -Dana
